These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the BulkLift platform operated by BulkLift Technologies Inc. (“BulkLift”, “we”, “us”). By booking a delivery, registering as a driver, or otherwise using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. What BulkLift is
BulkLift is a technology platform that connects customers who need last-mile delivery of large or bulky retail items with independent third-party drivers who provide the delivery. BulkLift is an intermediary marketplace. We do not employ drivers and do not ourselves provide transportation services. Drivers are independent contractors responsible for their own conduct, vehicles, licensing, and insurance.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the platform. Service is currently available only within the Windsor, Ontario service area defined at the time of booking.
3. Bookings, quotes, and pricing
Quotes are calculated from the pickup and drop-off locations, item tier, distance, and applicable surcharges, and are presented to you before you confirm. The quote shown at confirmation is the price for that booking, subject to changes you make (e.g., address, item, load assistance) and to any taxes that apply. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including addresses, item description, declared value, and the stair-carry confirmation. All amounts are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Before you confirm, you are given an express opportunity to review, accept or decline, and correct your booking, and you receive a booking confirmation you can retain and print, consistent with Ontario internet-agreement requirements.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. By providing payment information you authorize a hold and subsequent charge for the quoted amount. BulkLift does not store full card numbers. Driver payouts and platform fees are settled separately according to our internal ledger.
5. Prohibited and restricted items
You may not request transport of prohibited items, including but not limited to pianos, safes, construction lumber or aggregate (gravel), unsealed glass, hazardous materials, illegal goods, perishables requiring temperature control, or living things. Items with a declared value over CAD $1,000 are not eligible for the platform. Items with a declared value over CAD $250 may be flagged for additional review before dispatch. You are responsible for declaring item value accurately.
6. Pickup and delivery
You agree to provide accurate locations, ensure the item is available for pickup, and be reachable for delivery. Delivery is verified by a 4-digit code you share with the driver and/or proof-of-delivery photos. Condition photos may be taken at pickup. BulkLift cannot dispatch drivers for multi-flight stair carries; you confirm at booking that none are required.
7. Cancellations, refunds, and claims
Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Damage claims are handled through our claims process and are subject to the liability limit in Section 8.
8. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BulkLift’s aggregate liability arising from or relating to any single delivery is limited to CAD $250, drawn from our internal risk-reserve fund. BulkLift is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Ontario or Canadian consumer-protection law.
9. Driver terms
Drivers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of BulkLift. Drivers are responsible for valid licensing, roadworthy and insured vehicles, lawful operation, and applicable tax obligations. As a platform operator we collect tax-identification information (SIN for sole proprietors or BN for incorporated drivers) as required for Canada Revenue Agency reporting; see the Privacy Policy.
10. Acceptable use and termination
You agree not to misuse the platform, attempt to circumvent payment, harass drivers or staff, or submit fraudulent bookings or claims. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or unlawful conduct.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the courts located in Ontario, Canada.
13. SMS / text messaging program (BulkLift Delivery Alerts)
Program name: BulkLift Delivery Alerts. When you book a delivery and verify your mobile number, you consent to receive transactional text messages from BulkLift: a one-time verification code, and status updates about your specific delivery (driver assigned, item picked up, en route, arrival with your 4-digit confirmation code, and completion), as well as a notice if a payment fails. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
Message frequencydepends on your delivery activity and is typically 4–6 messages per delivery. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out of further messages. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at support@bulklift.ca. Consenting to texts is not a condition of any purchase; the verification code, however, is required to complete a booking. We do not share your mobile number or opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing.
